Polio Eradication

Since the establishment of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988, Pakistan remains ONE of only two countries (along with Afghanistan) with continued endemic transmission of wild poliovirus.

Pakistan Canada Association Windsor, with the help of Rotary Club of Roseland Windsor, Rotary Club of Karachi and Lahore, engaged in an initiative to send a team of nurses from Windsor to provide much needed vaccination to Pakistani children.

The initiative was approved and supported by Office of the Consul General of Pakistan. 12 member team was issued Visa to travel to Pakistan and have partnership with Pakistani Rotarian to have Polio Free Pakistan.
